The Location
Despite being in a quiet residential street, Studio Loza is just a short walk from all the action.
Around the apartment you’ll find the charming, narrow winding streets of Veli Varoš, an area that was originally the home of the artisans who fished the local waters, built the growing city, and farmed the Marjan hill that is right behind the apartment. Like a lot of central Split, the area around the apartment is pedestrianised, so you won’t be troubled by traffic, but it does mean that, as with most vacation rentals in the city, a brief walk to the apartment will be involved, however you plan to arrive.
We’ve created a special Google Map that shows you where the apartment is, along with the location of all the important transport hubs, places to park if coming by car, and the guest meeting point.

Finding Us and Checking In
Split is famous for its small, winding alleyways and the apartment is in one such, called Palmina Ulica. So, however you plan on arriving in the city, one of our team will be meeting you at St Francis’ Church (known locally as Svete Frane), an easily found landmark which is just a two minute walk to the apartment. That way you won’t get lost finding us. Svete Frane is the large church with a clock on its tower that you will find at the west end of the Riva, Split’s main waterfront.
The address of Svete Frane is: Trg Franje Tuđmana 1, 21000, Split.
The GPS/Sat-Nav coordinates are: 43.508241,16.435525
Here are quick links to the location of this meeting point in some of the main navigation apps.
Getting to Split from Split Airport
Split Airport is at Kastela – less than 30 minutes from the city centre – and is served by several airlines which offer direct flights from several European countries.
Croatia Airlines provides a year round service, while in the summer months many airlines including EasyJet, Eurowings, Jet2, WizzAir, Tui, Ryanair, Norwegian, Lufthansa, British Airways and SAS, among others, offer both scheduled and charter flights.
To get from the airport into Split we recommend our local agent’s airport pick-up service where a member of our team will meet you at the airport and take you straight to the apartment. The service is roughly the same price as a taxi, but with added convenience. Prices can be found on the on-line booking form for the apartment.
Taxis are available from just outside the airport terminal. You should ask to be dropped at ‘Svete Frane’, this is St. Francis church at the west end of the Riva, where your ‘Meeter & Greeter’ will rendezvous with you.
An alternative is the quick and easy airport coach into Split. The current fare is €8 per person, with children under 6 years of age travelling free. The coach terminates at Split’s coach station on the east side of the Riva, Split’s palm tree lined waterfront. From here simply walk along the waterfront to the west end of the Riva where you will see a large church. This is Sv. Frane (St. Francis), where your ‘Meeter & Greeter’ will rendezvous with you.
If you plan to use the coach to return to the airport we recommend that you check the times of return journeys here.
(The No 37 city bus passes by the airport, but we do not recommend it because it is slow, often crowded and only takes passengers to Split’s central bus station which is a different one to the coach station above and is a considerable walk from the apartment.)
Alternatively there are a number of car hire companies operating from Split airport, including all the major brands. Their desks are to be found at the end of the pedestrian walkway that leads from the arrivals hall towards the airport’s main parking lot. Pre-booking is a good idea, especially in the summer, and we recommend Economy Car Rentals for service and value. Please see the ‘Arriving by car’ section below for more details.

Arriving in Split by Car
In the “Finding Us” section above you will see the GPS location of Svete Frane church, where one of our team will meet you. There are also links to all the major navigation apps. We recommend that when you first arrive you park on the metered street parking near to the meeting point, or the small harbourside parking lot just across the road. Once you have checked in to the apartment you have the option of returning to move your vehicle to another parking location.
You can see the locations of the apartment, the meeting point and of both free and metered parking locations on our special Google Map. Please note that you cannot drive right up to Studio Loza by car, but there is both paid and unpaid car parking available within 400m.
Remember that it is a legal requirement in Croatia to keep your car headlights on at all times and remember to drive on the RIGHT.
If you need to hire a car while in Croatia we recommend Economy Car Rentals for service and value.
Arriving in Split by Ferry, Train or Inter-city Coach
The ferry port, train station, and coach station are located together a short distance from the east end of the Riva, Split’s waterfront esplanade. Split is the hub for ferries running to the islands of Dalmatia and across to Italy. Jadrolinija runs the bulk of the ferries to and from the islands and also long distance lines to Rijejka and Dubrovnik as well as to Ancona and Bari in Italy. SNAV also services Ancona from Split. Split’s train station offers regular Croatian Railways services to and from Zagreb. Coaches from across Croatia (including Zadar, Rijeka, Zagreb, Trogir and Dubrovnik) as well as from Bosnia-Herzegovina, arrive at the inter-city coach station.
To get to the meeting point from the ferry terminal, train station or inter-city bus station, walk north towards the city, then walk along the Riva to the west end where you will see a large church. This is Sv. Frane (St. Francis), where your ‘Meeter & Greeter’ will rendezvous with you. The walk takes around ten minutes.
